INFRARED STEALTH COATINGS

Tipping The Scales

Our Unrivaled INTERMAT IR STEALTH Thermal Signature Management Technology is by far the simplest and most effective asymmetric countermeasure to IR detection and targeting available.

Our Coatings, fabrics & adhesives protect against IR detection and have been proven to severely degrade the effectiveness of the most advanced modern thermally guided munitions & ISR platforms.

INTERMAT DEFENCE IR STEALTH Signature Management Coatings significantly reduce infrared signature emissions by harnessing the fundamental principles of IR theory through the combination of emission Scattering, Rejection, Diffusion and Reflection of thermal Infrared Radiation.

The thermal/IR signature Infrared Cross Section of coated surfaces are drastically reduced to a minimum achieving Multispectral performance against modern combat threats across both optical and the entire infrared spectrums.

Applications

Passive air & missile defense include all measures in conjunction with active defense to minimize the effectiveness of hostile missile threats. Such methods include detection, warning, camouflage, concealment, deception, dispersion, hardening, and the use of protective construction.

Anti IR signature management Coatings can be applied almost anywhere. Buildings, depots, hangars, airfield taxiways and corridors, fixed anti-aircraft systems, air conditioning units, generators, and on all surfaces, including concrete /cement, plaster, bricks, and asphalt (alkaline surfaces).

Our revolutionary coatings provide increased survivability of combat vehicles, fixed assets and personnel. Proven to defeat EO/IR sensors & IR seeking ordinances. Coating have defeated “Lock-On” and tracking systems by reducing thermal signature & detection range of a targets by up to 75%.

These coatings have also been proven to reduce the compounding radiation absorption effects of environmental sources in turn reducing heat radiation into the internal crew compartments of vehicles, reducing temperatures on average 7.4C

Anti-IR Signature Management  Coatings are not only for land assets. Coatings and materials have been utilised to protect assets against IR detection and targeting from peer-on-peer adversaries and their most modern thermally guided weapon systems & ISR platforms across all Defence domains.

Coatings have been successfully utilised for maritime purposes proven extremely effective in a number of NATO member trials. These coatings have been formulated to not only provide IR signature management at sea but also withstand the rigors of the harsh maritime environment.

Anti IR signature management Coatings have been successfully utilised to protect and cool large scale infrastructure projects.

Coatings and materials have been lab verified to reflect & diffuse thermal energy. Consequently, these coatings effectively reduce the effects of compounding solar radiation and excessive environmental temperature absorption. Coatings have been tested & proven to significantly reduce the temperature of coated surfaces, in turn, reducing internal temperatures, plant & machinery operating temps, material expansion fatigue & more.

SURVIVABILITY Via SUPERIORITY

The Critical Factor

In combat, the pivotal factors determining battlefield superiority lays in 'Time to Detection', 'Target Resolution', Engagement Range and Accuracy where minor differences in target detection and identification capability become critical factors to lethality.

Just like optical camouflage, a combat platform coated with INTERMAT IR STEALTH coatings quickly becomes indistinguishable to its background in the IR spectrum, significantly reducing the chance of detection and degrading an adversary's capability to target and engage.

The adversary's maximum effective ranges for target acquisition and weapon delivery are significantly curtailed, while friendly weapon systems can fully exploit their capabilities. Combat forces that can detect an adversary while remaining undetected at similar ranges will always have the first shot advantage.

DEFEATING THE UNDEFEATABLE

Targeting Degradation

Be them allied of adversarial, infrared seeker technology is the most prolific and most commonly utilised passive means of missile guidance today. Almost all modern missile systems incorporate infrared (IR) light emission seeking systems to track and strike their targets.

Unlike radar guidance that is susceptible to sophisticated jamming methods. IR-seekers do not indicate through emissions that that they are enroute or tracking a target and cannot be jammed. This principal is also why infrared seekers are suitable for both close range encounters and long range over the horizon strikes.

recent analysis has found that almost 90% of all combat losses on both sides of the current conflict in Ukraine have utilised IR detection or seeking somewhere in their kill chains.

So, what if we could change that statistic for our forces, if even it was only by a fraction?

SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE, UNRIVALED

Asymmetric Advantage

INTERMAT IR STEALTH Signature Management Technology is that game changer. Extensively tested in harsh environmental conditions spanning temperatures from -25ºC to +55ºC and evaluated against modern IR Observation, Targeting and weapon systems (including Javelin).

INTERMAT Coatings have effectively defeated thermal weapon "lock-on" and tracking systems and degraded IR sensors detection ranges by up to 75% for a fraction of the cost of active or interception solutions.

The greatest commodity in combat is time! While modern threats require modern countermeasures, the greatest measure of survivability is still to remain unseen.
